Had an old FTU green rod that was 15 years old that finally wore out...asked my buddy Ruben Garza who I've fished with since 2010...what should I get to replace my beloved FTU Green Rod...he suggested this, so I named it after him via thier custom department.
Salty mag is one of my favorites and is one of the best rods on the market and I will buy another. The tip is sensitive and you feel the smallest bites but also has the backbone for muscling in red 10/10
Have always loved my 6’9 salty mag so when came time to needing a wade fishing setup I knew what rod to go too ordered a 6’6 salty mag and ended up catching a 26 inch trout on my first trip with it
The Salty Mag has been a workhorse for me for sure. From the 6'9" casting rod sightcasting redfish to the 7'0" spinning rod as my popping cork set up they are lightweight, sensitive, and strong!
Waterloo staff went above and beyond to process a warranty claim for me at the Houston Fishing Show. Saved me a trip to Victoria and got me back to fishing with my favorite all purpose rod!
Nice addition to my Waterloo rods collection. Fits perfectly in between my HP Lite and HP Slam.
I have been fishing these for many years and I have no complaints.
Thank you Waterloo
I’ve been loving this rod. For the price, it’s one of the best bang-for-your-buck rods out there. I mainly throw Down South Lures, Vudu Shrimp, and Hogie paddle tails on 1/8- to 3/16-ounce jig heads, and it handles them perfectly. I have the 6’6” model, and it’s lightweight, sensitive, and has plenty of backbone for inshore fishing. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quality rod without spending a fortune.
This was a warranty exchange! Waterloo and the boys from Waterloo are awesome! A big thank you to getting my salty mag replaced! I can’t wait to cast this rod. Thank you again!
Feels very nice in the hand....just received it...only fished it once....I liked it....it'll be a good addition to the HP Lites I have.... which are spectacular...!
Love the rods. They work trout baits sooooo much better than my old rods. I am so much more confident when fishing for speckled trout now. Because I know my bait has the action required to get the big bite. Thank you so much Waterloo!
Really digging it. Pairs perfect with an 1/8oz head and a DSL Big Smooth. Fish stay pinned and has great sensitivity. Paired with a Curado 50e and 20lb Tacx Seaguar braid. Solid combo.
